How are we different?

Our chlorella is cultivated in open-air ponds in Taiwan. The farm is considered the leading producer of microalgae worldwide, known for its innovation and high-quality chlorella since 1964. There, Chlorella sorokiniana is cultivated in large basins in natural, remote areas under natural light. The microalgae are first cultivated in a system of glass tubes and then transferred to outdoor tanks containing a special nutrient solution, where they continue to grow under the Taiwanese sun at ambient temperatures between 22°C and 26°C. After 4–6 weeks of growth in the clear water of the ponds, the algae have completely metabolised the nutrient solution, storing the nutrients in the form of naturally bioavailable compounds. In the final step, the microalgae are mechanically harvested and then spray dried in a centrifugal hydrator. The result is a fine, iron-rich powder, which is then pressed into practical tablets.

The two common names for Chlorella are Chlorella vulgaris and Chlorella pyrenoidosa, the latter being an umbrella term. There is no such species as Chlorella pyrenoidosa, but rather a group of algae of various species and strains, including Chlorella vulgaris, Chlorella sorokiniana and Chlorella fusca. For our pressed pellets, we use a chlorella that belongs to the species Chlorella sorokiniana.

Our premium chlorella tablets, standardised to 0.3% natural, plant-based iron, are produced without genetic engineering or synthetic fertilisers. The tablets are produced without any additives.

Chlorella

Algae are among the oldest life forms in the world. The term "algae" refers to the various eukaryotic organisms which thrive in water and naturally carry out photosynthesis. Algae can be found almost anywhere in the world, in both fresh and salt water. They are an integral part of the cuisine of many cultures due to their compelling taste and valuable properties. Other well-known varieties include nori, spirulina and ecklonia.

Chlorella

A type of freshwater microalgae, chlorella is one of the oldest life forms on earth. The unicellular eucaryote, only 5–10μm in size, has a spherical shape and an exceptionally high chlorophyll content. Its particularly strong cell walls contain hemicellulose, which offers the cell stability. Chlorella has an extraordinarily fast reproduction rate, with every cell division taking only 16–20 hours. The chlorella growth factor (CGF) contained in the cell nucleus accounts for this high rate. CGF is a unique complex first isolated in the 1950s by Dr. Fujimaki, consisting of nucleic acids, nutrients, amino acids, peptides and polysaccharides. Chlorella's unique nutrient profile, its high protein content and its valuable secondary phytochemicals make it an interesting superfood.

Dosage

Recommended Dosage

Take 6 tablets (200mg chlorella per tablet) with 200ml water twice daily before a meal.

Food Supplement

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements cannot replace a balanced and varied diet. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
