We source this chlorella from a premium manufacturer in Germany, specialised in the production of 12–13 different species of microalgae since 2000.
Our manufacturer grows Chlorella vulgaris in a specially developed, patented glass tube system. This closed system protects the microalgae from contamination while providing it with an optimal supply of sunlight throughout its growth. The tubes, measuring a total of 500km, are only 45mm in diameter; the large surface area allows optimal UV exposure. The water, which makes up the majority of the tubes contents, is obtained from an artesian spring at a depth of over 45m. The growing season lasts from approximately March to November, depending on weather conditions. After harvesting, the algae is gently spray dried and remains raw throughout processing due to the low temperatures which never exceed 42°C. By carefully controlling the temperature, the valuable and heat-sensitive ingredients, as well as a high proportion of the accompanying microbial flora, remain intact. The final step is pressing the chlorella into tablets (a process in which no additives are used).
Naturally High Levels of B12
For the production of these chlorella tablets, the manufacturer identifies and selects the harvests which have natural and exceptionally high levels of vitamin B12. Recently, the manufacturer was able to analyse the composition of cobalamins provided in these tablets through extensive testing: the natural vitamin B12 content was found to consist on average of 76% adenosylcobalamin, 14% methylcobalamin and 10% hydroxocobalamin.
The pipe systems are cleaned exclusively with H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide), and the manufacturer conducts regular checks on all products internally as well as via third-party testing, checking for pollutants, alfatoxins, microcystins and heavy metals in particular. Taken together, the manufacturer's many years of experience, as well as their specially developed cultivation method and routine checks, guarantees an exceptionally high-quality product.
