The carotenoid astaxanthin is considered the "queen of carotenoids" and is responsible for the characteristic colouration of numerous types of fruits and vegetables as well as in flamingos and salmon. The green microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis synthesises it under difficult environmental conditions as a natural protective substance.

This natural, purely plant-based astaxanthin from Hawai'i (BioAstin®) is derived from the micro alga Haematococcus pluvialis. It comes from sustainable and patented cultivation with pure spring water on the sunny Kona Coast of Hawai'i and is nutrient-rich due to the lava stone and deep sea water there. It has been dissolved in MCT coconut oil and packaged in vegan GreenCaps. No additives.
