How are we different?

There are different forms and active ingredients for all B vitamins. A distinction must be made between synthetic and directly active, bioidentical vitamin forms: the former do not occur in nature or in our bodies and must first be converted, while the latter have an immediate effect. For this B complex, we only use active bioidentical forms with optimum bioavailability and direct effect. The only exception is vitamin B1, the active form of which is not approved as a food supplement in Germany.

For some of the B vitamins, there is not just one, but several important natural forms. This applies in particular to B12 and folic acid. In contrast to many conventional B12 preparations, the vitamin B12-MH3A® formula introduced by us as a B12 pioneer supplies vitamin B12 in the same way as it occurs in natural foods: as a mixture of all three natural and bioactive forms of vitamin B12 in an optimal synergy. This is because all three forms fulfill different tasks in the body and have different focal points of action. Our MH3A® formula contains all three forms of vitamin B12 in an equal, balanced ratio of five B12 active ingredients and thus provides the ideal foundational supply - because in nature, all three forms are always found together both in our bodies and in food. On the market, it is common to find preparations with only one of the three B12 active ingredients (methylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin or adenosylcobalamin).

Conventional folic acid, which is still used in many food supplements, is an artificial, synthetic product that is not found in this form in nature and cannot be directly utilised by the body. Synthetic folic acid must first be converted into active folate in the body before it can have an effect. This conversion is not always possible as additional cofactors and enzymes are required. In our unique folate complex, we have combined natural folic acid from lemon peel and three premium, patented folates: the glucosamine salt Quatrefolic®, the highly available calcium salts Magnafolate® Pro and Metafolin®. All three forms provide 99.9% pure L-methylfolate and complement each other through rapid and effective absorption of the bioactive L-5-MTHF. The form that absorbs better varies from person to person. The folate complex of high-quality components ensures that the body is supplied with sufficient folate in the ideal form in every case.

The other vitamins are also contained in their active forms, such as vitamin B6 as P5P (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate) or vitamin B2 as R5P/FMN (riboflavin 5'-sodium phosphate).

In addition to the eight vitamins of the B complex, there are four important cofactors that were also counted among the B vitamins for many years: choline/chiticoline (formerly vitamin B4), betaine/TMG (methyl choline), myo-inositol (formerly vitamin B8) and NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydride), also known as "coenzyme 1," as the active form of vitamin B3.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Effects

B Vitamins

Today, the B vitamins include eight water-soluble vital substances known as vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, biotin and folic acid. In contrast to other vitamins, the B vitamins cannot be stored in the body over a longer period of time and must therefore be supplied daily through food. The only exception is vitamin B12, which can be stored in the liver.

Some of the B vitamins work very closely together and their effects are interdependent; it is therefore important to ensure an adequate supply of all B vitamins. As the B vitamins are distributed across all food groups, only a very balanced diet provides all B vitamins in sufficient quantities. Consequently, even large nutritional studies repeatedly show significant gaps in the supply of B vitamins.

High-Dose B-Complex Forte with five cofactors

Directly bioactive B vitamins provide optimal bioavailability and efficacy to the body. The B vitamins included here are in highly effective, bioidentical forms as well as in active coenzyme forms. The addition of choline, betaine, inositol, PABA and NADH, cofactors which were formerly considered B vitamins, further increases their bioavailability and efficacy.

  • Thiamin (B1) is involved in energy production and the normal functioning of the nervous system and psyche.
  • Riboflavin (B2) plays a role in energy production and reducing fatigue, maintaining healthy skin and mucous membranes, and protecting cells and DNA from oxidative damage.
  • Nicotinamide (B3) is involved in the synthesis of serotonin and melatonin from L-tryptophan and is required for the function of the nervous system, psyche, energy, fatigue, skin and mucous membranes.
  • Pantothenic acid (B5) plays a role in the energy production of the mitochondria and is required for the synthesis of proteins, cholesterol, steroid hormones and neurotransmitters as well as for the metabolism of vitamins A and D.
  • Pyridoxine (B6) is the most important vitamin for amino acid utilization and is involved in the immune system, hormone activity, nervous system, energy metabolism and the formation of red blood cells.
  • Biotin (B7) contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes and hair as well as to the normal function of the energy metabolism, nervous system and metabolism of macronutrients.
  • Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is required for the formation of red blood cells and for building DNA and proteins.

In addition to the eight essential B vitamins, there are several other nutrients that interact closely with the B vitamins as cofactors and were therefore counted as B vitamins themselves until recently.

  • Choline (formerly vitamin B4) is mainly found in the form of phosphatidylcholine (lecithin) and acetylcholine.
  • Betaine (as trimethylglycine/TMG) is another activated form of choline.
  • Inositol (formerly vitamin B8)i s mainly found in the brain, liver and kidneys.
  • PABA (formerly vitamin B10) acts as a coenzyme and is involved in the formation of red blood cells via vitamin B9.
  • NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydride), the active form of vitamin B3 (niacin) and also known as "coenzyme 1," is involved in many redox reactions of the cell's metabolism.

Health benefits of B vitamins according to the European Food Safey Authority (EFSA):

  • Normal functioning of the nervous system
  • Normal heart function
  • Maintaining normal iron metabolism
  • Maintaining normal red blood cells
  • Protecting DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative stress
  • Cell division
  • Maintaining normal cysteine synthesis
  • Maintaining normal amino acid synthesis

Dosage

Directions

Take 1 capsule with 200ml water at a mealtime daily.

Daily Requirements

The official daily requirement (NRV) for each B vitamin are:

  • 1.1mg vitamin B1
  • 1.4mg vitamin B2
  • 16mg vitamin B3
  • 6mg vitamin B5
  • 1.4mg vitamin B6
  • 50µg biotin
