We source this essential oil from a renowned and certified producer in the Provençal countryside of Valréas in the north of Provence in France. The company was founded around 1980 and owns plantations and farms with essential oil plants worldwide. They work professionally and passionately according to quality standards and with many years of experience. The oil is extracted by steam distillation directly after harvesting on the farm in compliance with the highest quality standards. Thanks to their many years of experience, the distillers use a particularly gentle distillation process at low water pressure, which leads to an almost complete extraction of the valuable plant substances. The origin and quality of the plants are very well documented. Its products are certified with the French organic seal EcoCert.
VETIVER
Vetiver (Vetivera zizanioides) belongs to the sweet grass family (Poaceae) and grows endemically in India and is cultivated in tropical regions. In growth and appearance, the plant resembles lemongrass, citronella or palmarosa. It can grow up to 2 metres high and has sturdy leaves. The roots grow up to 3 metres deep and thus stabilise the soil. In Indonesia, the aromatic roots are traditionally woven into mats as window coverings to keep out insects and cover huts. Ayurvedic medicine uses vetiver root to treat heatstroke, fever and headaches.
