The bergamot trees are cultivated in Calabria, Italy, a region renowned for the fruits. There, the climate and soils provide optimal growing conditions for the trees, allowing for a harmonious development of flavours and compounds. Following harvesting from December to March, the fruit peels are processed via cold pressing in a local facility. The experience of the passionate farmers in cultivation, harvesting and processing allows for the production of particularly intense and unique essential oils. and harvested by hand when they are at their optimum ripeness. The essential oil contains linalyl acetate and gamma-terpinene, among other compounds.

Farm

The manufacturer of this essential oil is a family-run company based in France, which was founded around 1990. It specialises in the certified organic cultivation of indigenous aromatic plants, and has global cooperatives. The aromas of the plants, obtained either via steam distillation or cold pressing, is highly regarded in the perfume industry. The many years of experience in organic cultivation as well as a passion for production are reflected in the harmoniously balanced essential oils. Their products are certified with the EU organic seal.

Bergamot

Bergamot grows on an evergreen citrus tree and belongs to the rue family (Rutaceae). It forms a rounded crown and winged petioles, its white fragrant flowers become pale yellow pear-shaped round fruits. It is believed that the origin of bergamot is from Asia, today it is cultivated mainly in Calabria, Italy, a region known for bergamot cultivation.

Aroma

Bergamot oil is known for its balancing, uplifting effect. When applied externally, it also has a calming effect on the skin. The fresh, citrusy scent encourages feelings of courage and confidence, reduces tension and relieves anxiety.
