The wild rosemary thrives at an elevation of around 900m in Castile-La Mancha, in southwestern Spain. Our wild rosemary oil contains a high concentration of cineole, which is due to the climatic conditions of the location. In this Mediterranean region, the plants are able to harmoniously and naturally develop their aromas, which include 1,8-cineole, camphor and alpha-pinene. Between July and September, the rosemary stems are gently hand-harvested by experienced employees. The aromatic essential oil is then extracted on-site via steam distillation. The producer's passion and experience is reflected by the fine aromas present in the oil.

The manufacturer of our high quality essential oil is a small family business in the Castilla-La Mancha region of sunny and vast central Spain. The company was founded around 1970 and since then has been producing essential oils from home grown native essential oil plants. The climate in this region favours the growth of these plants. The oils are gently extracted in the distillery using steam in stainless steel tanks. His homemade products are certified with the Spanish Organic seal - CAAE certified.
Wild Rosemary
The aromatic, fragrant rosemary shrub is an evergreen which belongs to the Lamiaceae family. Its purplish blue to white flowers are popular with bees and butterflies. The shrub can grow up to 1.5m in height and diameter. Rosmarinus officinalis is native to the Mediterranean region, but is also successfully cultivated in locations with a similar climate, such as Madagascar. Depending on the precise climatic conditions of the area in which a rosemary plant grows, it produces different components in stronger concentrations, which is why there are so-called chemotypes (ct.), such as cineole, camphor (borneol) and verbenone. These components are contained within the essential oil. Fresh and dried rosemary leaves are used in aromatherapy to vitalise body and mind, and in cooking as a spice.
