Apple
The apple (Malus domestica) is one of the world's most widely cultivated fruits. It belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae) and has a history dating back to ancient times. Originally from central Asia, apples are now cultivated in almost all temperate climate zones around the world. Apples are available in many varieties that differ in taste, colour and texture.
Pineapple
The pineapple (Ananas comosus) belongs to the bromeliad family. It is an unusual plant in that it produces only one pineapple fruit, which grows for a full 13–15 months before it is ready for harvesting. The pineapple consists of an intertwined berry-fruit cluster and a core. The term "comosus" (part of the scientific name) is the Latin word for "tuft," which refers to the characteristic leafy tuft of the fruit. The cultivation of pineapples has a long history: it was consumed by indigenous peoples in South America as food and wine.
Maca
The maca plant (Lepidium meyenii) belongs to the cruciferous family and the cress genus (Lepidium). It is thus related to watercress, garden cress, rapeseed and mustard. Maca, also known as Peruvian ginseng, is native to the Peruvian Andes, where it has been cultivated at high altitudes for about 2000 years. It is considered a complete food in the Andes and is used as a tonic for their armed forces. Mainly the tubers of the maca plant are used; they taste slightly sweet.

Our freshly harvested fruits are puréed, enriched with organic maca root powder and gently freeze-dried in order to preserve sensitive ingredients such as flavours and bioactives. In the first step, the enriched fruit purees are frozen at very low temperatures, freezing their water content. Next, the pressure is reduced and the temperature is slowly increased so that the ice transitions directly from a solid to a gas. This removes the majority of the water from the purees. In the final step, the remaining water is extracted, giving the drops their porous, light structure and extremely long shelf life.
This gentle freeze-drying method ensures the retention of the fruit's natural flavour and its full spectrum of nutrients. Our freeze-dried fruits can be enjoyed all year round with the added benefit of maca root powder.
