This mugwort essential oil is sourced directly from a small, certified organic farm located in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where the desert-like landscape and elevation of 900-1,200m offer optimal growing conditions for the plant. Most notably, the bracing climate with its very cold nights and hot, dry, windy days, stimulates the formation of a high concentration of valuable ingredients and aromas.

Directly following harvest, the oil is extracted via steam distillation on the farm, in compliance with the highest quality standards.The experienced producers use a particularly gentle distillation process using a low water pressure, which allows for an almost complete extraction of the valuable plant compounds.

Mugwort, also known as white mugwort, belongs to the Asteraceae family, to which around 300 different species belong. Mugwort grows abundantly as a shrub in dry fields, steppes or between bushes. The plant has 2-5 mm long, silvery-green leaves and brownish-yellow flowers. It grows predominantly in the northern hemisphere and in northern Africa, e.g. in Morocco.
