Sicily's Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich soil provide ideal conditions for growing citrus fruits. These external influences are reflected in the intensity of the aromas and ingredients. After harvesting, the fruits are taken to our own production facility for cold pressing. With a passion for producing a quality product and moulded by many years of experience, the fresh essential oil is now pressed from the peel.

We source this essential oil from a small family-run company in Sicily. The company was founded in the 1970s and specialises in citrus fruits. The first organic cultivation began in 2002 and is continuously adapted to the latest findings and the cultivation areas are expanded. The mineral soils and the Mediterranean climate of this sunny region as well as the many years of experience in cultivation, care, harvesting and processing are reflected in the high-quality essential oils from this producer. The essential oils are cold-pressed in the company's own production facilities and have been awarded EU organic certification.
Lemon
The lemon tree (Citrus limon) belongs to the rue family (Rutaceae). Citrus trees originate from the south-eastern foothills of the Himalayas, from a region that includes eastern Assam (India), northern Myanmar and western Yunnan (China). It grows as a large evergreen shrub or small tree whose leaf axils are often covered with thorns. From spring to summer, the tree is adorned with fragrant, white flowers, from which the egg-shaped yellow fruits develop. In addition to the essential lemon oil that is cold-pressed from the peel, the essential petitgrain oil is produced by distilling the fruit, twigs and leaves.
