Finest Origin - Highest Grade

Our supplier has been growing English lavender organically at an altitude of 900m in southern Spain since 1998. The temperature fluctuations from cold nights to very hot, dry days provide the optimal climate for the plants, allowing for the harmonious development of aromas such as linalyl acetate, linalool and broneol. During harvest, from July to August, the farmers hand-harvest the buds and stems. The plants are then processed into aromatic essential oil by experienced distillers via a gentle steaming process which takes place in their own distillery.

Farm

The producer of this fine essential oil is a small family-operated business in the region of Castilla–La Mancha in sunny central Spain. The business was founded in 1970 and has produced essential oils from their own local herbs ever since. The region's bracing climate is especially beneficial to the cultivation of their herbs. The oils are gently processed on-site in the business's own distillery. All products are certified organic to EU and Spanish (CAAE) standards.

Lavender

True lavender belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and originates from the Mediterranean region, with perhaps the most famous variety thriving in the Haute Provence. The plant grows relatively compactly and bush-like. The leaves are grey-green, while the lavender buds bloom pale to dark purple on 8cm long stems. The shape as well as scent of lavender is dependent on the elevation at which it grows.

Aroma

This aromatic, floral and herbaceous scent has a balancing, calming and relaxing effect on the body and mind. Its mild aroma offers a feeling of security, and can be used as a soothing accompaniment to sleep.
