Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The frankincense trees are grown according to organic standards at 1,000-1,800m elevation in Somalia, Africa, by experienced farmers. The desert-like region offers an ideal climate for the growth of the trees and their development of aromas including alpha-pinene and linalool. The resin is carefully collected by hand, then processed by passionate and experienced producers at a local distillery, where it undergoes gentle steam distillation according to strict quality standards.

Farm

This essential oil is sourced from a renowned and certified producer based in Valréas in northern Provence, France. The company was founded in 1980 and owns several essential oil plantations and farms all over the world. The origin and quality of the plants are well documented. The company ensures that the highest standards are maintained and works professionally and passionately to produce excellent essential oils.

The oils are produced from freshly harvested plant materials via steam distillation. The experienced producers use a very gentle distillation method with low water pressure, which leads to the extraction of almost all the valuable plant substances. Their products are certified organic according to French EcoCert standards.

Frankincense

Frankincense trees belong to the Burseraceae family and are found in the semi-desert areas of Somalia, Ethiopia and the Arabian Peninsula. Also known as olibanum, the small trees have whitish flowers, triangular fruits, strong trunks and papery, flaky, brownish bark. Frankincense, which is a resin, is obtained by making cuts in the trees' trunks and thick branches. In reaction, the tree releases milky, white sap which hardens into resin when exposed to air. Historically, frankincense has been used by different peoples in ritual and religious contexts.

Aroma

Der harzig-frische Duft des Weihrauchs wirkt klärend und erhebend. Die leicht süßlichen Nuancen schenken Geborgenheit und schaffen Raum für neue Inspirationen.
