How are we different?
In contrast to standard preparations, which often contain hidden and controversial additives such as magnesium stearate, we offer pure vitamin D3 tablets. Thanks to an active ingredient manufactured exclusively for us, we completely avoid unnecessary excipients. For optimal absorption, the vitamin D3 is combined with MCT coconut oil; we use 100% nanoparticle-free cellulose as a carrier to ensure precise dosing.
Natural Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 naturally occurs almost exclusively in animal sources as the bioactive form of vitamin D. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi, contain only very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D2. Lanolin, the wax found in sheep's wool, is a proven source for obtaining bioactive vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). A multi-stage process, which includes gentle extraction and intensive purification, results in a highly pure D3 crystallisate that is used as the active ingredient for our vegetarian Sunferol® D3 formulation.
All-trans Vitamin K2
Vitamin K2 exists in various molecular forms; vitamin K2 MK-7 is considered by far the most effective form of K2 as it remains active in the body for a long time and meets the functional K2 requirement even at low doses. It is believed that only the trans form of MK-7 demonstrates full biological efficacy. Vitamin K2 is designated "all-trans" when it consists of at least 98% trans isomers; however, despite manufacturers' claims, widespread label fraud occurs in the sale of vitamin K2. Independent laboratory tests prove that many supplements declared as all-trans K2 often actually contain only small amounts of all-trans vitamin K2.
Our original Sunquinone® K2 is a premium branded active ingredient, delivering an exceptionally high MK7 all-trans content of approximately 99.8%. This consistently high degree of purity is rigorously verified through comprehensive independent laboratory testing.
No Hidden Additives
The only other ingredient we use in our vitamin D tablets is gum arabic – a pure, natural filler for tableting. Unlike the synthetic fillers usually found in such products, we use a natural substance that is also a natural foodstuff.
Effects
Vitamin D & Vitamin K2
Vitamin D and vitamin K2 both play key roles in calcium metabolism. Together, they regulate the cells which form and break down bones as well as the important transport molecules which ensure the correct utilisation of calcium. This product's ratio of vitamin D3 to K2 MK-7 is specially formulated to ensure optimal interactivity between these two nutrients.
Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU via the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):
According to EFSA, vitamin D contributes to:
- Normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
- Normal calcium levels in the blood
- The maintenance of bones
- The maintenance of normal muscle function
- The maintenance of healthy teeth
- Normal function of the immune system
- Cell division
Currently, almost all authorities do not consider vitamin K2 separately, but all K vitamins together. Accordingly, the statements released for vitamin K1 currently apply to vitamin K2.
Vitamin K contributes to:
- Normal blood clotting
- The maintenance of normal bones
Vitamin K2 exists in various forms, which have different levels of effectiveness. Vitamin K2 MK-7 is considered by far the most effective form of K2 today. However, since vitamin K2 molecules occur in a variety chemical structures (the so-called cis–trans isomers of vitamin K2), there are considerable differences in efficacy even between different vitamin K2 MK-7 compounds. It is believed that only the trans forms can be utilised by the body.
Dosage
Directions
Take 1 tablet every 5 days with a meal and 200ml water.
Note: Not suitable for children under 7 years old.
Daily Requirements
Vitamin D3
The contradictory information surrounding daily requirements for vitamin D intake can be confusing. Daily recommendations vary greatly between different organisations and governing bodies. For example, the EU recommends a daily intake of 200 IU for adults, while the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends 800 IU.
However, numerous researchers and nonprofit organisations believe that these recommendations are too low and are not enough to prevent deficiency. An intake of at least 1500 – 2000 IU or 3000 – 6000 IU are recommended by the American Endocrine Society and the Vitamin D Council (USA), respectively.
Vitamin K2
Although the German Nutrition Society recommends a total intake of at least 70µg vitamin K per day, there are currently no recommendations for vitamin K2 specifically.
Note: Recent research shows that vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 have distinctly different profiles in terms of their effects. Vitamin K2 requirements have not yet been scientifically established, but are likely higher than those listed by the DGE. A complete carboxylation of Matrix GLA protein (MGP) and osteocalcin, which is the main function of vitamin K2, can be observed in doses starting from 100µg per day.
Food Supplement
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Laboratory Tests
The purity of our formulas is important to us. This is why we have both our raw ingredients as well as our finished products extensively tested by independent laboratories to confirm purity and active ingredient content. Here, we have provided the results of some of the tests carried out on this product.
