Sero Complex

Our Sero Complex is a precisely calibrated multi-nutrient, developed in collaboration with nutrition expert Dr. Alina Lessenich. This unique formula combines the amino acids 5-HTP from Griffonia seeds and plant-based L-tryptophan with the important methyl group donor SAMe, providing a targeted supply of substrates. The specialised co-factor blend of magnesium, zinc and bioactive B vitamins contributes significantly to normal psychological function and normal cognitive performance.

Sero Complex stands out with its carefully formulated synergy, which goes far beyond conventional single-ingredient supplements. While 5-HTP is available to the body as a direct precursor, plant-based L-tryptophan serves as a sustainable source for the body’s own reserves. To optimise utilisation, we use only directly available forms of active ingredients that dont't require prior conversion, such as active vitamin B6 (PLP). Zinc – which contributes to normal cognitive function – and the ‘methylation quadrangle’ comprising patented Quatrefolic® folate and 5 B12 compounds support the normal function of the nervous system and contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Our selection of ingredients represents the current state of raw material research. The patented branded raw material Magtein® (magnesium L-threonate) is a special chelated compound of magnesium and L-threonic acid which was developed at MIT. This premium raw material has a 100% pure active ingredient, is free from carriers and is standardised to 7.2–8.3% magnesium and at least 85% L-threonic acid.

We specifically rely on a special solution for providing vitamin B12: instead of conventional single active ingredients, we use a 5-fold complex that combines the bioactive coenzyme adenosylcobalamin with 3 different hydroxocobalamin forms (hydroxocobalamin acetate, chloride and sulphate) with a delayed release. Together with folate in the form of the patented, glucosamine salt-bound Quatrefolic® (5-MTHF) that bypasses MTHFR for immediate use, this combination contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism – an essential process for the breakdown of metabolic intermediates and methylation. This formula is rounded off by bioactive vitamin B6 in the directly available coenzyme form PLP, as well as vitamin B3 as niacinamide – both laboratory tested with an exceptional purity of at least 99%.

The quality of this complex also stands out with our SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) – instead of unstable compounds, we use a stabilised form produced by fermentation of yeast with a laboratory-tested (S,S)-isomer content of over 75%. This is supplemented by a particularly pure chelated zinc complex made from 100% bioavailable zinc bisglycinate. Our 5-HTP is a completely plant-based extract from African black bean seeds (Griffonia simplicifolia) from Ghana, gently extracted using water and ethanol and standardised to 30% L-5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), guaranteed free from peak X. Our bioactive, completely vegan L-tryptophan (min. content of 98.5%) is produced by fermentation of non-GMO maize starch and processed with only water.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG.
