Our vitamin B1 is contained here in the form of thiamine hydrochloride, a stable and very potent form of vitamin B1. Since the active form of vitamin B1 is not approved as a food supplement in Germany, we have chosen a particularly high-quality, vegan active ingredient with the highest possible bioavailability and purity.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is the precursor of the coenzyme thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP, or thiamine diphosphate, TDP), which fulfils numerous important functions in the body. Vitamin B1 is found in almost all organs and tissues of the body and has a decisive influence on the central and peripheral nervous system, where it is particularly important for signal transmission between nerves and muscles. Vitamin B1 also contributes to nervous system regeneration.
Vitamin B1 is also involved in the metabolism of some neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine and thus contributes to normal mental function.
Another important area for vitamin B1 is in the extraction of energy from food. TPP, a coezyme, is crucial in the citrate cycle of the mitochondria, where it plays a key role in the aerobic breakdown of glucose.

Take 1 capsule (250mg vitamin B1) daily with 200ml water.
Daily Requirements
Daily requirements for an adult are between 1.0 and 1.3mg (NRV: 1.1mg).
However, for optimal effect, vitamin B1 should be taken at much higher doses. To absorb larger amounts of vitamin B1, the necessary dosage is quite high; vitamin B1 is mainly absorbed via active transport, which is depleted after about 5 to 10mg of vitamin B1. Furthermore, at higher doses, only about 5% of total absorption is made via passive diffusion. A dose of 250mg thus corresponds to an actual intake of about 17 to 22mg of vitamin B1.
