How are we different?
Our premium organic guarana powder is made from fully matured, sun-dried, and ground whole guarana seeds. The guarana plants are grown by experienced smallholders in an agroforestry system, which combines arable farming with forestry. The annual crops are grown alongside perennial trees, shrubs and bushes. This method of cultivation is more ecologically viable than monoculture plantations because it preserves the natural diversity of the ecosystem, which in turn leads to nutrient-rich soils. The guarana is cultivated without the use of plant protection products or artificial fertilisers.
Only the fully ripened guarana fruits are harvested by hand each day, and the seeds are placed in the sun to dry. A light roasting below 45 degrees removes residual moisture and preserves the full raw food quality of the seeds. This immediate, gentle drying process preserves all the valuable ingredients of the freshly harvested guarana seeds. The whole guarana seeds including the shell are then ground into a fine powder.

The guarana plant belongs to the soap tree family (Sapindaceae) and is native to the Amazon basin. Both coffee-like drinks and lemonades are made from the seeds due to the caffeine content. Guarana is also used in chocolate, teas, chewing gum and energy drinks.
