How are we different?

Our organic green coffee powder consists exclusively of hand-harvested organic Coffea arabica beans from the Peruvian Andes. The coffee beans, grown in nature at an altitude of 600-1200m above sea level, are processed in the most gentle way and remain unroasted in order to preserve their raw quality. Our fine powder therefore contains the natural content of all the plant's bioactives as well as 2% caffeine.

This product is packaged in an environmentally friendly, 100% biodegradable and compostable pouch made of starch, cellulose and paper.

Green Coffee

Unlike the roasted form of Coffea arabica beans, our Peruvian "green", i.e. unroasted, coffee beans of the same species retain all the nutritious and invigorating benefits of the raw coffee plant. Green coffee naturally contains about 2% caffeine.

Although green coffee is brewed just like roasted coffee, its taste is mild, bitter, and quite unlike the flavour we often associate with coffee. Green coffee powder, however, makes an excellent addition to smoothies and shakes.

Region and Processing

Coffee of the Coffea arabica variety has been cultivated in the highlands of the Peruvian Andes since the arrival of Spanish colonists, and this region has since become one of the preeminent coffee-growing regions in the world. The mountainsides of the Andes are characterised by fertile soil and lend the coffee a unique flavour and a particularly high chlorogenic acid content.

The hand-picked, unroasted coffee beans are cleaned, dried at 45°C, then milled to a fine powder. The powder is sieved and then packaged to protect against moisture, light and oxidation.
