Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The niaouli trees are cultivated according to strict organic standards on the southeast coast of Madagascar, where the oceanic winds, the tropical climate and the nutrient-rich soil offer optimal growing conditions. The leaves are carefully hand-harvested throughout the year. They are then processed via steam distillation in the producer's own distillery. The essential oil contains 1,8-cineole, alpha-pinene and alpha-terpineole.

Farm

We source this essential oil from a cooperative founded around 2005, and based in the heart of Madagascar. The cooperative unites a number of small farms located all around the country, which either cultivate the various plants in their optimal climatic conditions or hand-harvest them from the wild. Following harvesting, the oils are processed on-site via steam distillation. The oils are produced according to EU organic standards, and have the EU organic seal.

Our producer is committed to contributing to reforestation efforts as well as providing education for children and adults.

Niaouli

The niaouli tree belongs to the Myrtaceae family, and is related to the tea tree. The trees can grow up to 30m high, and have a papery, light grey bark. The green leaves grow 10cm long and 5cm wide, and the flowers are mostly greenish to cream in colour, although they can sometimes be pinkish red. Niaouli is predominantly found in Australia and tropical regions of South East Asia, as well as Madagascar.

Aroma

The menthol and camphor aromas have a strengthening and invigorating effect. The strong, yet slightly sweet fragrance offers a sense of clarity and feelings of determination throughout difficult periods.
