"Mangosteen" comes from the Milanese and describes the fruit of the mangosteen tree. Due to their 3 to 5 cm diameter, mangosteen fruits are reminiscent of tomatoes. Indonesia was once the country of origin of this tasty fruit. Due to the constantly growing demand for the evergreen tree Garcinia Mongostana, the cultivation area is now expanding to Europe and the USA. Queen Victoria of England was so fond of the mangosteen that she had the sailors who brought it back to her knighted. This is where the nickname "Queen of Fruits" comes from.

How are we different?
Our mangosteen extract is obtained from mangosteen fruits from sustainable agriculture without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers. This ensures that the fruit grows naturally and in harmony with the environment. The mangosteen fruits are harvested at their peak ripeness to ensure optimal nutritional content. To preserve the integrity and beneficial properties of the mangosteen, the fruit is dried exclusively at low temperatures that effectively remove excess moisture. This ensures that the final extract retains its nutritional value. Careful ethanol extraction then produces an extract of the highest quality with a standardised content of 10% of the valuable xanthone mangostin.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
