The iary plant is endemic to the highlands of central Madagascar. This coastal area, with its oceanic and tropical climate, offers optimal growing conditions for the plant, allowing it to develop a rich assortment of concentrated aromas and ingredients, such as beta-pinene and beta-ocimene.

The wildcrafted iary plants are gently hand-harvested at an altitude of 1,000m by experienced farmers. The fresh petals and leaves are then brought to the local distillery, where they are gently processed via steam distillation in a stainless steel tank.

We source this essential oil from a cooperative founded around 2005, and based in the heart of Madagascar. The cooperative unites a number of small farms located all around the country, which either cultivate the various plants in their optimal climatic conditions or hand-harvest them from the wild. Following harvesting, the oils are processed on-site via steam distillation. The oils are produced according to EU organic standards, and have the EU organic seal.

Our producer is committed to contributing to reforestation efforts as well as providing education for children and adults.

Iary belongs to the Asteraceae family, and is endemic to Madagascar. It grows as a small, shrub-like tree, and can reach heights of up to 5m. It produces long, thin leaves and clusters of small, yellow, flowers.

The intense, woody scent warms the heart and can help to relieve feelings of exhaustion and demotivation, offering a renewed a sense of motivation.
