The business was founded in 1970 and has produced essential oils from their own local herbs ever since. The region's bracing climate is especially beneficial to the cultivation of their herbs. The oils are gently processed on-site in the business's own distillery. All products are certified organic to EU and Spanish (CAAE) standards.

Santolina, also known as cotton lavender, belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and grows in the shape of a stocky round shrub with white, woolly shoots and dense gray leaves. In the summer, the plant flowers golden yellow tufts. Santolina originates from the western and central lands around the Mediterranean Sea and thrives in Spain.
