The silver firs used to produce our essential oil grow in alpine and high alpine regions of South Tyrol at elevations of up to 1800m. Here, they develop their valuable ingredients in a balanced ratio. Fresh air, strong temperature fluctuations and deep, nutrient-rich soil are optimal for their growth; storms can hardly harm silver firs. The essential silver fir oil comes from the freshly harvested, needle-covered branches, which are carefully hand-picked from wild-growing trees from October to December and gently steam distilled in the local distillery. The aromatic essential oil contains limonene, pinene and sesquiterpenes, among others, which create the wonderfully woody scent. The increased content of alpha-pinene in the South Tyrolean silver fir is responsible for the outstanding citrusy-fruity fresh scent and distinguishes it from silver firs from other regions.

Farm
This family-run company has been producing essential oils and herbal products for over 110 years and has been certified organic since 1995. The plants used to produce the essential oils come either from the company's own organic cultivation, from Demeter-certified cultivation by a regional producer, or from the company's own controlled wild collection, which always follows the principles of sustainable forestry. With respect for nature and the knowledge of their ancestors, the fourth generation of the company carries out all work by hand, from harvesting to bottling. For example, harvesting by hand in tune with the rhythm of nature preserves the vitality of the plants. The joy and passion of producing high-quality, sustainable products in harmony with nature is reflected in the outstanding quality of the essential oils.
Silver Fir
The silver fir (Abies alba) is native to western, southern and central Europe. This evergreen tree from the fir genus (Abies) belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae) and can live for up to 650 years. The tree reaches a height of 50 to 60 metres, but grows slowly in its youth and waits patiently until it has enough light. During this time, it forms deep taproots that protect it against strong storms. This strategy has made it the tallest and most resilient native conifer and it is considered the queen of the forest. The suffix ‘alba’ refers to the white-grey bark of the trees. The silver fir has been used as a medicinal and healing plant since ancient times, and in the Middle Ages it was considered a symbol of strength due to its majestic growth. The needles, shoots, cones, seeds and resin were mainly used. An infusion of the fresh shoots, for example, helped against spring fatigue and bronchitis.
Aroma
The resinous, fresh, woody and spicy scent of silver fir provides clarity, grounding and calm.
