All our vegetarian vitamin D3 capsules contain a high-quality premium vitamin D3 as the active ingredient, which has been specially produced for us with no hidden additives - only with MCT oil from coconuts and natural vitamin E. The active ingredient is characterised by its purity and guaranteed vitamin D3 content. D3 active ingredients very often contain a range of additives, some of which do not have to be declared, such as synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils and maltodextrin. Our vitamin D3 is particularly pure due to the elaborate special production according to our specifications.

Our vitamin D drops only contain two ingredients: vitamin D3 and MCT.

MCT CARRIER OIL FOR OPTIMAL PROTECTION AND IMPROVED UTILISATION

Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin and can only be absorbed by the body together with fats. For our D3 drops, we have selected a particularly high-quality MCT oil made in the Netherlands based on coconut oil as the carrier oil because it hardly breaks down the fat-soluble vitamins, making it the best option for optimum active ingredient protection. The medium-chain fatty acids of the carrier oil themselves also represent a valuable nutrient. The manufacturer of our coconut MCT oil can confirm that no monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts.

While capsules and tablets first have to dissolve in the body to release the active ingredient, vitamin D3 from oil is immediately bioavailable in the mouth and can therefore be optimally absorbed. Oils are also particularly convenient to use and are also suitable for people who have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets. All our oils come with high-quality glass pipettes, which makes it particularly easy to dispense the exact amount in drops. Vitamin D

Vitamin D3 naturally occurs almost exclusively in animal sources, particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi, contain only very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D2.

Vitamin D plays a very important role in the body. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone. In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.

Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

Daily Requirements

Vitamin D

The contradictory information surrounding daily requirements for vitamin D intake can be confusing. Daily recommendations vary greatly between different organisations and governing bodies. For example, the EU recommends a daily intake of 200 IU for adults, while the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends 800 IU.

However, numerous researchers and nonprofit organisations believe that these recommendations are too low and are not enough to prevent deficiency. An intake of at least 1500-2000 IU or 3000-6000 IU are recommended by the American Endocrine Society and the Vitamin D Council (USA), respectively.

Food Supplement

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements cannot replace a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
