Premium Bioactive Ingredients
How are we different?
All of our vitamin D3 oils contain a high-quality premium vitamin D3 as the active ingredient, which has been specially produced for us without any hidden additives—only with MCT oil from coconut and natural vitamin E. The active ingredient is characterised by its purity and guaranteed vitamin D3 content. D3 active ingredients very often contain a whole range of additives, some of which do not have to be declared, such as synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils and maltodextrin. Our vitamin D3 is particularly pure due to the elaborate special production according to our specifications.
Our vitamin D drops only contain two ingredients: vitamin D3 and MCT oil.
MCT Coconut Oil for Optimal Absorption
Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin and can only be aabsorbed by the body when combined with fats. Our D3 drops are suspended in high-quality MCT coconut oil made in the Netherlands as the carrier oil because MCT oil hardly breaks down the fat-soluble vitamins, making it the best option for optimum active ingredient protection. Our MCT coconut oil is completely free from additives and the medium-chain fatty acids in the carrier oil constitute valuable nutrients themselves.
While capsules and tablets first have to dissolve in the body to release the active ingredient, vitamin D3 from oil is immediately bioavailable in the mouth and can therefore be optimally absorbed. Oils are particularly convenient to use and are also suitable for people who have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets. All our oils come with high-quality glass pipettes, which make it particularly easy to dispense the exact amount in drops. In contrast to dropper bottles, which are often difficult to handle and tend to smudge, glass pipettes are comfortable to clean and use.
Effects
Vitamin D
Vitamin D3 naturally occurs almost exclusively in animal sources, particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi, contain only very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D2.
Vitamin D plays a very important role in the body. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone. In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.
Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

Daily Requirements
The contradictory information surrounding daily requirements for vitamin D intake can be confusing. Daily recommendations vary greatly between different organisations and governing bodies.
For example, the EU recommends a daily intake of 200 IU for adults, while the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends 800 IU. However, numerous researchers and nonprofit organisations believe that these recommendations are too low and are not enough to prevent deficiency.
