Finest Origin - Highest Grade

Our producer has been cultivating Eucalyptus citriodora trees organically at an altitude of 800m in northern Madagascar since 2006. The tropical temperatures, soil and climate conditions offer optimal growing conditions for the trees, allowing for the full development of their aromas, including citronellol and geraniol. Their leaves are harvested by hand throughout July and August, after which they are processed on-site via steam distillation.

Farm

The producer of our high quality essential oil is a small, experienced and certified Nature et Progrès company in Madagascar. He owns mainly own as well as worldwide plantations with essential oil plants. The plants are mostly harvested sustainably by hand. The origin and high quality of the plants are very well documented. He extracts the essential oil by gentle steam distillation in a stainless steel tank.

Eucalyptus

The eucalyptus belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and is originally native to Australia. This lemon eucalyptus (Eucalyputs citriodora) grows in the Alaotra-Mangoro region of Madagascar. The evergreen eucalyptus grows sprawling with smooth, light-coloured bark. The trees have aromatic, narrow lanceolate to sickle-shaped, hanging medium to deep green leaves that can grow up to 23 cm long. In spring and summer it produces individual white to cream-coloured flowers. Due to its high natural component citronellol, the essential oil is often used in insect repellents, especially against mosquitoes.

Aroma

The citrusy-fresh eucalyptus scent promotes a feeling of clear headedness and good mood.
