How are we different?
Our Actbiome® Curcuma MucoCur is a polar nonpolar sandwich (PNS) of turmeric fibre, curcuminoids and asafoetida. Asafoetida is the milky, resinous latex from Ferula assa-foetida, a plant native to Iran and Afghanistan. The sophisticated matrix of turmeric fibre and asafoetida creates a synergetic environment between all the ingredients, ensuring higher stability and bioavailability.
Since the natural bioavailability of curcuma is low, significant efforts have been made over the years to improve its poor oral absorption, low solubility and rapid metabolism, either via innovative extraction, vesicles or enhancers. In our Actbiome® Curcuma MucoCur, the curcuminoids are incorporated between two layers of polar turmeric fibre and non-polar asafeotida using innovative PNS Technology (Polar Non-Polar Sandwich Technology). This approach facilitates the transfer of bioactives through lipid membranes, improving their bioavailability. In this case, the curcuminoids are protected in a natural matrix, allowing their bioactivity and effectiveness to improve. This formulation requires no additives or auxiliary substances.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.

Turmeric Fibre
Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), a species of ginger native to India, has been considered a sacred plant for more than 5000 years. The ancient Indian Vedas scriptures indicate that turmeric, also known as Indian saffron, has long been one of the country's most important spices. The root is believed to have important therapeutic uses in Ayurvedic tradition as well as in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In Europe, different species of turmeric have also been known to serve as liver and gall bladder remedies since ancient times. Turmeric is one of the most researched plants in the world, with studies largely focused on its curcuminoids. The traditional use of this plant, however, relies on the synergy between all the compounds within the turmeric root.
Asafoetida
Asafoetida is the dried, resinous latex from the roots of Ferula assa-foetida, a plant which grows throughout Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Due to the phytochemicals it contains, which give the plant an extremely sulphurous odour reminiscent of garlic, the herbaceous plant is also colloquially known as stinking gum or devil's dung.

Take 1 capsule daily with at least 250ml water before a meal. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
