This region has the ideal climate, which offers the sage plants the best conditions to fully develop their valuable ingredients and flavours in the herb and flowers, including linalyl acetate and geraniol. Only the fresh flowering herb is thus used for the production of clary sage essential oil. The oil is extracted by steam distillation directly after harvesting on site in compliance with the highest quality standards. Thanks to their many years of experience, the distillers use a very gentle distillation process at low water pressure, which leads to an almost complete extraction of the valuable plant substances.

Clary sage
Clary sage belongs to the labiate family (Lamiaceae) and the sage genus. It grows as an upright, branched shrub that can reach a height of one metre. From spring to summer, it forms cream, lilac-coloured to pink-blue panicles or racemes. Clary sage can be found from Europe, e.g. France, to Central Asia.
