Natural Vitamin D3
Our Sunferol® D3 Vegan is sourced from pine trees. The pine oil is sustainably obtained as a byproduct of forestry (bark, branches), meaning that pine trees do not need to be cultivated or felled specifically for vitamin D production, as the raw material originates from an existing circular system. This provides a key advantage over vegan vitamin D sourced from algae or lichen, which are grown exclusively for vitamin D production. Unlike resource-intensive algae cultivation, production from pine oil requires neither controlled bioreactors nor artificial lighting or heating systems. Our vegan vitamin D from pine oil can therefore be produced more cost-effectively and with significantly lower energy and raw material consumption.
All-trans Vitamin K2
Vitamin K2 exists in various molecular forms, which are referred to as MK-4 and MK-7 depending on the length of their side chains. MK-7 is considered the most effective form of vitamin K2, as it remains active in the body for an exceptionally long time and meets the functional K2 requirement even at low dosages. However, there are further variants within the MK-7 form. Only the trans form has full biological effectiveness. An active ingredient declared as "all-trans" must therefore consist of at least 98% vitamin K2 MK-7 in this effective trans form.
Special caution is required in the area of vitamin K2. Despite manufacturers' claims, widespread label fraud occurs here. Independent laboratory tests show that many supplements declared as "all-trans K2" often contain only small amounts of all-trans vitamin K2.

While conventional D3 and K2 active ingredients are often mixed with a whole range of concerning additives that are not legally required to be declared on the label – including synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils, and maltodextrin – our active ingredients are custom-made by a specialised manufacturer in a time-intensive process according to our exact specifications. We completely avoid all of these otherwise common hidden additives. The exceptional purity of the raw material allows us to add only a small amount of bioactive vitamin E as an antioxidant to ensure optimal stability and shelf life. To guarantee this excellent quality, our products are regularly tested by an independent laboratory for active ingredient content, freshness, and potential contaminants such as heavy metals.
MCT Oil Base: Enhanced Absorption & Stability
Vitamin D and K2 are fat-soluble vitamins that can only be absorbed by the body when combined with fats. We therefore use a particularly high-quality MCT carrier oil from coconut. In contrast to other carrier oils (e.g. olive oil), pure MCT oil provides optimal protection for fat-soluble vitamins, thereby ensuring maximum active ingredient stability. The medium-chain fatty acids in MCT oil are also a valuable nutrient in their own right. Our oil is processed in the Netherlands and cultivated without the use of plant protection products. The producer also guarantees that no monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts.
