Each B vitamin has multiple forms and active ingredients. Synthetic forms, which do not naturally occur in nature or the body, must first be converted before they can be used. In contrast, bioidentical forms are directly active and have an immediate effect. For our Plant-Based B Complex Bioactive Forte, we combine selected botanical extracts with active bioidentical forms with optimal bioavailability and direct effect. The only exception is vitamin B1, for which the active form is not approved as a food supplement in Germany. This approach allows us to provide the full spectrum of vitamin B in the highest quality and purity.
The completely plant-based raw materials are purposefully cultivated according to the highest standards. These include: guava, mango, lemon peel, garlic, shiitake, yeast, spirulina, chlorella, sunflower seed pomace, sprouted mung beans and Indian basil. The nutrients are extracted in their authentic diversity of forms using either only water and ethanol, or only amla and lime juices as well as coconut water. The natural purity of the raw materials is preserved throughout the entire extraction process and the subsequent gentle spray-drying.
Some B vitamins have more than one important natural form, particularly B12 and folic acid.
Our Vitamin B12 MH3A® formula provides vitamin B12 as it occurs in natural foods: as a mixture of all 3 natural and bioactive forms of vitamin B12 in optimal synergy (methylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin and adenosylcobalamin). All 3 forms perform completely different tasks in the body and have different effects.
Conventional folic acid, still used in many food supplements, is an artificial, synthetic product that does not occur in nature in this form and cannot be directly utilised by the body. Synthetic folic acid must first be converted into active folate in the body before it can take effect. We have opted for the patented brand-name raw material Quatrefolic®, a directly bioactive (6S)-5-MTHF glucosamine salt with superior bioavailability due to 100-fold higher water solubility.
The other vitamins are also present in their active forms, such as vitamin B6 as PLP (pyridoxal 5'-phosphate) or vitamin B2 as R5P/FMN (riboflavin 5′-phosphate sodium).
In addition to the 8 vitamins of the B complex, 4 important cofactors are included, which were also counted among the B vitamins for many years: choline/citicoline (formerly vitamin B4) and betaine/TMG (methyl-choline), myo-inositol (formerly vitamin B8) as well as NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydride, also called "coenzyme 1" as the active form of vitamin B3).
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.
