Plant-based food sources do not contain bioactive vitamin A, only the vitamin A precursor beta-carotene, which the body must convert to vitamin A itself. Our vitamin A is in the form of retinyl acetate, which can easily be synthesised to directly bioactive vitamin A. Our retinyl acetate is a pure, high-quality premium ingredient and free from impurities resulting from release agents used during production. In contrast to many retinyl palmitate products, our vitamin A is 100% vegan and not produced from animal products.
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and yields its highest bioavailability in oil. Our highly concentrated vitamin A is dissolved in sunflower oil and diluted with high-quality MCT coconut oil.
Our airtight and leak-proof GreenCaps provide the best possible protection against oxidation for the selected oil-based raw materials. The capsule shells are filled under nitrogen gassing and hermetically sealed with an additional sealing ring. This ensures optimum freshness and shelf life of the valuable ingredients. Unlike most other HPMC capsule shells, GreenCaps made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) are 100% free from additives such as carrageenan, gelatine and PEG. They are pure, vegan, gluten-free and allergen-free. We use light-protected amber glass instead of plastic for the packaging.
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin which controls several important functions in the body. While well-known for its importance in maintaining good vision, vitamin A also has numerous other benefits: it contributes to the normal function of skin and mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, intestines and reproductive organs, supports the immune system and works synergistically with iron in the synthesis of red blood cells.

The EU recommends a daily intake (NRV) of 800µg (approximately 2600 IU) vitamin A. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a daily intake of 800µg (approximately 2600 IU) vitamin A for women and 1000µg (approximately 3300 IU) for men.
