Turmeric (Curcuma) from India
For over 5,000 years, the ginger family member curcuma (Curcuma longa L.), native to India, has been revered as a sacred plant. Ancient Indian vedic scriptures depict turmeric as one of the most important spices. In ancient Indian and Chinese teachings, the root continues to play a significant role today. Yellow root species have also been known in European herbal medicine since ancient times. Curcuma is one of the most extensively researched plants globally, with research mainly focusing on the group of plant compounds called curcuminoids. The traditional application traces back to the synergy of all the components of the curcuma root.
Curcuminoids or "Curcumin"
Curcumin, cyclocurcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin, and demethoxycurcumin collectively form the main constituents of the root, known as curcuminoids or often simply referred to as "curcumin." Each capsule of our Curcuma Forte contains 342mg of pure curcuminoids, equivalent to 23,214mg of turmeric powder. The natural enhancer, piperine, boosts the absorption of the poorly soluble, lipophilic, and hence, minimally bioavailable curcuminoids by 20 times (2000%). As a high-purity ethanol extract, it is guaranteed to be free from toxic extraction residues such as methanol, acetone, or n-hexane.
20x Higher Bioavailability Thanks to Piperine
The alkaloid piperine is responsible for the spiciness of pepper and is present in all types of pepper. Our organic piperine comes from organic black pepper extract and is guaranteed to be non-synthetic and free from the usually high pesticide contamination and toxic extraction residues such as methanol, acetone, or n-hexane.
Organic Turmeric Powder—The Full Spectrum of Turmeric
To complement the highly concentrated curcuminoids, each capsule contains 300mg of pure turmeric powder from pesticide-free cultivation in India. This embeds the extracted curcuminoids into a particularly natural context, expanding and enhancing the other valuable constituents of the turmeric root. As a result, a unique, highly bioavailable synergy of the best from the turmeric plant is created.
