This wild thyme, also called winter thyme, grows at an elevation of 350m in the Spanish region of Andalusia. This region is characterized by an ideal Mediterranean climate, which, in addition to the seasonal temperature fluctuations, leads to a particularly concentrated and rich formation of ingredients such as para-cymene, thymol, gamma-terpinene in the plant. The wild plants are gently harvested by hand from February to April and brought to our own distillery. For the production of the essential oil, the flowering herb is distilled with the gentle process of steam distillation in a stainless steel tank.

Our Spanish essential oil producer has been working with aromatic plants since 1996, which led to the creation of the small family business in 2004. The expertise of the company lies on the one hand in the production of essential oils from domestic plants on the other hand it obtains other oils from cooperatives worldwide. The quality and origin of the oils are therefore very well researched and documented. The native oils are either from their own controlled organic cultivation or from wild collection in the region of Andalusia. The manufacturer produces the essential oils with steam in its own distillery, in addition, its products are certified organic since 2004.
Thyme
This thyme (Thymian hyemalis) is native to the Spanish region of Andalusia and is also known as winter thyme due to its early flowering period between October and March. The plant, which belongs to the labiate family (Lamiaceae), grows in semi-arid areas, in thyme groves in stony places at elevations of up to 1800 metres. The plant grows up to 50 cm high and bears pink-coloured blossoms when in bloom.
Character
The herbaceous-spicy aroma has a strengthening and invigorating effect. The earthy-warm notes with a hint of menthol simultaneously give a feeling of relaxation and invite you to let go.
