Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The East Himalayan fir essential oil is sourced directly from Bagmati province in Nepal. The firs grow wild in this mountainous region, where the fresh air, climate and quality of soil offer optimal growing conditions. The trees are able to develop a harmonious range of fine aromas, including limonene, alpha- and beta-pinene, and alpha-fenchene.

The harvest takes place by hand between September and February, when the needle-like twigs are gently collected in baskets and processed on-site via steam distillation.

Farm

This family-run producer was founded in Nepal around 2010. The producer regularly recruits new farms for cooperation, and farmers are thoroughly trained in organic cultivation methods. The farm's essential oils are derived from plants which are all either wildcrafted or cultivated organically, in the mountains of Nepal. The plants are then processed in the producer's own distilleries located across the country. The producer's passion for growing and nurturing aromatic indigenous plants is reflected by the fine aromas of the oils. Most of the products are certified with the EU organic seal.

East Himalayan

East Himalayan firs are mainly found, as the name suggests, in regions around the Himalayas, including Afghanistan, Kashmir, north west India, Nepal and Bhutan. They belong to the pine family (Pinaceae), and can grow up to 50m tall, with a diameter of up to 1.5m. Their needles can grow up to 6cm long and 4mm wide. They have widely protruding branches and scaly, rough bark. At the ends of their branches, they grow round, resinous buds.

Aroma

This fresh fragrance offers space to take a breath and let things go. This promotes feelings of liberation and clarification.
