The twigs and needles are gently harvested by hand and processed with steam in the local distillery. These ideal growing conditions stand out in their essential oil aromas, they are authentically spicy and fresh and contain alpha-pinene and beta-phellandrene, among others.

Farm
This essential oil is produced by a small family business in France that specialises in wildcrafting indigenous plants. Their passion for distilling wild plants began around 1990. At the time, they produced their assortment of high-quality essential oils at their small distillery, but by 2003 they were able to move into a much larger distillery where they conduct gentle steam distillation. The wild plants, some of them harvested at very high elevations and some at sea level, are all collected by hand by the passionate staff. Any missing oils are sourced from partners whose origin and standards are also well documented. All their essential oils and other natural products are certified organic to EU standards.
Pine
This black pine Pinus nigra ssp. laricio belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae). It can grow up to 50m high and unfolds as an imposing tree with deeply furrowed dark-gau-brown to black bark. It forms flexible two-needled dark green needles, which grow 8-15cm long. These pines can live up to 400 years, they are good in reforestation and as windbreaks, and feel comfortable on dry soils. They are mainly found in Corsica, Sicily and Calabria.
