The sweet flag plants are wildcrafted in the mountainous region of Bagmati, at an elevation of 2,200m. The cold, wet, dry and windy climate conditions of the Himalayas allow for optimal growth of the plants, and encourage the formation of their main constituents, including alpha- and beta-asarone, in a harmonious ratio. Between October and November, the plants are carefully hand-harvested, collected in baskets and brought to the stainless steel distillery. There, the plants are processed via steam distillation.

This family-run producer was founded in Nepal around 2010. The producer regularly recruits new farms for cooperation, and farmers are thoroughly trained in organic cultivation methods. The farm's essential oils are derived from plants which are all either wildcrafted or cultivated organically, in the mountains of Nepal. The plants are then processed in the producer's own distilleries located across the country. The producer's passion for growing and nurturing aromatic indigenous plants is reflected by the fine aromas of the oils. Most of the products are certified with the EU organic seal.

Sweet flag, also known as sway, calamus, or calamus root, belongs to the Araceae family, and is native to Asia. Nowadays, it is found in swampy regions throughout Europe. It grows up to 1.5m tall, and has small flowers which are greenish in colour.
