This Spanish sage is grown to certified organic standards in sunny, Mediterranean Spain. In this climate, with very hot and dry days and occasionally cool nights, the plants find ideal growing conditions. They develop their aromatic compounds, such as camphor and 1,8-cineole, in a balanced ratio. The herb is gently harvested by experienced farmers at the optimum time, sorted and processed in our own distillery.

Farm
We source this essential oil from a renowned and certified producer located in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. The company was founded in the early 20th century and today owns several essential oil crop farms worldwide, where the plants' origin and quality are well monitored. Production on these farms is passionate and adheres to the strict quality standards set by the French organic certification body EcoCert. After harvesting, the plants are either cold pressed or gently steam distilled in a stainless steel tank to release their essential oils.
Spanish sage
Spanish sage belongs to the (Lamiaceae) family. It is widespread in the southern Mediterranean region, including North Africa, Spain and southern France. It is very hardy and grows well in stony soil, reaching a height of up to 60 cm. Its leaves are grey-green and lance-shaped, and it produces blue-violet flowers arranged in spikes from June to August.
Aroma
The herbaceous-spicy fragrance vitalises body and mind and harmonises the nerves. The menthol notes have a gently opening and liberating effect.
