Most nutritional supplements contain synthetic, inorganic forms of selenium. However, selenium can be found in the form of organic compounds in natural food products. Chemically organic selenium can be better absorbed by the body and can also be metabolised differently. Selenium yeast contains more than 20 different organic selenium compounds with slightly different properties. The majority of selenium (84%) exists as selenomethionine, which is the most important form of selenium found in food products. The rest occurs in other forms such as selenocysteine. Selenium yeast is completely inactive yeast that cannot reproduce. It is a high-quality form of yeast which should not be confused with baker's yeast or intestinal fungi such as Candida.
Vitamin C and selenium have an important impact on the immune system and cell protection from oxidative stress. Both nutrients are combined to support the immune system. We use high-quality vitamin C derived from non-GMO corn, which is obtained via a multi-step manufacturing process. The result is a vitamin C product with 99.9%+ purity, completely free from corn.
The filler, which is made of premium acacia fibre grown without pesticides, is the only additive. In contrast to microcrystalline cellulose, which is often synthetic and high in nanoparticles, we use a 100% natural and fibre-rich food as a filler. Our acacia fibre comes from sustainable, climate-neutral, resource-conserving and fair cultivation.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.
