The pink pepper trees are wildcrafted at an altitude of 3,200m in a tropical coastal region in southern Peru. The local climate offers optimal growing conditions for the trees, allowing for the development of their aromas in a harmonious ratio. Important components of the fruit include myrcene and alpha- and beta-phellandrene. The fruits are carefully hand-harvested throughout the year. The fruits are then processed on-site via steam distillation. The producer's passion and experience is reflected by the high quality of this oil.

Farm
We source this essential oil from a small business founded in 2011 and located in the heart of Peru. The passionate employees are specialised in the cultivation of native plants, which they harvest by hand. They extract the essential oils from the plants via a gentle steam distillation process. The founders are committed to contributing to reforestation efforts as well as providing education and fair working conditions to the local indigenous peoples.
Pepper
The Peruvian pepper tree belongs to the sumac (Anacardiaceae) family, and is often found in Central and South America. It can grow up to 15m high and produces small, yellow-white flowers from which the red fruits grow. The fruits are referred to as pepper because of their appearance, which is similar to that of peppercorn. They also have a similar flavour, and are commonly used as a spice.
Aroma
The fruity-sweet scent and subtle spiciness promote feelings of warmth and strength. The aroma is invigorating and liberating.
