Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The palo santo trees thrive in the wild, tropical nature of Piura, in northern Peru. The Pacific winds and tropical temperatures which are characteristic of the local climate are optimal for the growth of the trees and allow for the full development of valuable components such as limonene, alpha-terpineol and beta-bisabolene. The strong winds, which are caused by El Niño, break away old wood from the trees, which is then collected by hand and processed into essential oil by our experienced and passionate producer. Processing takes place in the producer's own steam distillery.

Farm

We source this essential oil from a small business founded in 2011 and located in the heart of Peru. The passionate employees are specialised in the cultivation of native plants, which they harvest by hand. They extract the essential oils from the plants via a gentle steam distillation process. The founders are committed to contributing to reforestation efforts as well as providing education and fair working conditions to the local indigenous peoples.

Palo Santo

Palo santo (which means "holy wood" in Spanish), belongs to the torchwood (Burseraceae) family, and is mainly found in South American countries such as Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru. For most of the year, the thin palo santo tree has no leaves. These grow only during the rainy season, and are narrow and blue to green in colour. The fruits turn an intense red until they ripen.

Aroma

The intense aroma stimulates the psyche and promotes calmness and confidence. The woody scent has an invigorating and strengthening effect, while subtle nuances of citrus brighten and vitalise.
