Finest Origin - Highest Grade

This lavandin is grown according to organic standards by experienced farmers in the Drôme department of France at an elevation of 700-1,100m. The temperature, altitude and nutrient-rich soil of the region offer optimal growing conditions for the plant, allowing the lavender buds to fully develop their aromas and other valuable compounds, which is why only the fresh buds are harvested for use in the distillation of this essential oil.

Farm

This essential oil is sourced from a renowned and certified producer based in Valréas in northern Provence, France. The company was founded in 1980 and owns several essential oil plantations and farms all over the world. The origin and quality of the plants are well documented, and the company ensures that the highest standards are maintained and works professionally and passionately to produce excellent essential oils.
The oils are produced from freshly harvested plant materials via steam distillation. The experienced producers use a very gentle distillation method with low water pressure, which allows for the near complete extraction of the plants' valuable phytochemicals. Their products are certified organic according to French EcoCert standards.

Lavender

Lavandin grosso (Lavandula x intermedia) belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is a cross between spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia) and English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), with the resulting aroma lying somewhere between both varieties. The lower concentration of esters differentiates it from the otherwise very similar Lavandula hybrida super.

Lavandin grosso grows primarily in Provence (France), the Canary Islands, North East Africa through to South West Asia and India.

Aroma

The fresh aromas of lavandin vitalise the body and mind, while the subtly woody-floral notes have a calming and nervine effect.
