It belongs to the nightshade family (Solanaceae) and originates in South America. Today, the tomato is cultivated in almost all regions of the world. Tomatoes come in a variety of shapes, colours, sizes and flavours, making them a versatile ingredient in the kitchen.
Beetroot
Beetroot (Beta vulgaris), also known as beet, is a popular root vegetable that belongs to the amaranth family (Amaranthaceae). Originally from the Mediterranean region, beetroot is now cultivated all over the world. It is known for its deep red colour, which is due to its high content of betanin, a natural colouring agent.

Cultivation & Processing
Our freeze-dried vegetables are produced using a particularly gentle process in order to preserve sensitive ingredients such as flavours and bioactives. In the first step, the vegetables are frozen at very low temperatures, freezing their water content. Next, the pressure is reduced and the temperature is slowly increased so that the ice transitions directly from a solid to a gas. This removes the majority of the water from the vegetables while retaining their natural structure. In the final step, the remaining water is extracted, giving the vegetable their porous, light structure and extremely long shelf life.
This gentle freeze-drying method ensures the retention of the vegetables' natural flavours and their full spectrum of nutrients.
