This honey myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) is grown naturally in its endemic region in the southwest of Western Australia. The producer of this essential oil has propagated and grown since 2002 a species of Melaleuca teretifolia that contains a high level of the lemon-like fragrance citral (neral and geranial) at around 65-70%. In January, the young twigs and leaves are harvested and processed into this essential oil immediately after harvesting in the local distillery using gentle steam.

Farm
We source this essential oil from a small family business located in southwestern Australia. Founded in 1997, the company specializes in the cultivation of native aromatic plants and the production of essential oils from these plants, while adhering to controlled and sustainable farming practices. The origin and quality of the plants and the extraction of the essential oils are very well documented. The high quality essential oil is extracted directly after harvesting on the farm in compliance with very high quality standards by gentle saturated steam distillation.
Honey Myrtle
Honey myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) belongs to the large myrtle family (Myrtaceae). The plant is endemic to the southwestern part of Western Australia, which is known for its high biodiversity. There, they are found growing on sandy and clay soils in swamps and in low-lying areas that fill with water when it rains. The shrub has a growth height of up to 5 meters, the bark is light gray and papery and the needle-shaped leaves are 3 to 9 cm long. White, cream and, less commonly, pink flowers appear along the branch ends in spring and summer.
Aroma
The initially warm honey-sweet scent calms and has a balancing effect, in order to invigorate and create clarity with the lemony-fresh aroma. It strengthens inner strength and invites to creative thinking.
