Capsules

Our functional blend Mito 21 combines a mix of high-dose B vitamins (B2, B3, B5), bioactive coenzymes (coenzyme Q10, NADH), magnesium malate and other special raw materials such as acetyl-L-carnitine and R-alpha-lipoic acid (R-ALA). This unique formula, developed with Dr. Petra Buchanan, is tailored to specific metabolic situations and therefore contains no copper or iron.

The core of this formula consists of high-dose B vitamins: vitamin B2 as bioactive riboflavin 5′-phosphate sodium, the directly effective coenzyme form also known as flavin mononucleotide (FMN); vitamin B3 as flush-free nicotinamide, the starting point of vitamin B3 metabolism; and vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) as stable calcium D-pantothenate. Additionally, magnesium is included as chelated magnesium malate. Malate is a natural metabolic product of the citric acid cycle in the mitochondria (site of energy production). Our magnesium malate is characterised by exceptional bioavailability.

Acetyl-L-carnitine is the acetylated form of the amino acid L-carnitine, a conditionally essential amino acid compound formed from the amino acids L-lysine and L-methionine. We use 100% vegan acetyl-L-carnitine from non-GMO production. No animal components such as gelatine, hair or feathers are used in the production, and only plant-based, renewable raw materials are utilised. The complex production process results in a very pure raw material of the highest quality without any additives.

For alpha-lipoic acid, we use the patented active ingredient Bio Enhanced® Na-RALA, a stabilised R-alpha-lipoic acid as sodium R-lipoate. Conventional synthetic alpha-lipoic acid is racemic, consisting of 50% natural R-alpha-lipoic acid, as found in plants, animals and the human body, and 50% unnatural S-alpha-lipoic acid, which behaves like a mirror image of the former and does not exist outside of chemical synthesis. Our raw material has an exceptionally high content of the beneficial, natural R-ALA form. The additional processing steps necessary for the production of Bio-Enhanced® Na-RALA ensure, unlike the production of racemic alpha-lipoic acid, a particularly thorough purification, so that none of the common solvent residue contaminations are found (values well below legal limits).

Our functional blend is completed with the bioactive coenzymes coenzyme Q10 and NADH. Coenzyme Q10 is involved in numerous processes in the body and generally exists in two forms: as oxidised ubiquinone and as reduced ubiquinol. In our Mito 21, both forms are contained in a balanced ratio. Both raw materials are obtained through non-GMO fermentation: ubiquinone through fermentation by the bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides and ubiquinol through yeast fermentation. The end product is yeast-free.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.
