Finest Origin - Highest Grade

The mastic tree grows in the desert-like coastal region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Morocco. The area has an ideal Atlantic climate with strong winds, fresh, clear air and very hot days. These conditions allow the plant to develop its aromas and compounds, including alpha-pinene and beta-myrcene. Following harvesting, the plants are processed on-site via gentle steam distillation. The slow distillation allows for a high yield of aromatic components. The farmers' passion and many years of experience, as well as their adherence to strict quality standards during distillation, are crucial factors in the development of a high-quality essential oil.

Farm

This essential oil is sourced from a renowned and certified producer based in Valréas in northern Provence, France. The company was founded in 1980 and owns several essential oil plantations and farms all over the world. The origin and quality of the plants are well documented. The company ensures that the highest standards are maintained and works professionally and passionately to produce excellent essential oils.

The oils are produced from freshly harvested plant materials via steam distillation. The experienced producers use a very gentle distillation method with low water pressure, which leads to the extraction of almost all the valuable plant substances. Their products are certified organic according to French EcoCert standards.

Mastic

The mastic shrub belongs to the sumac (Anacardiaceae) family. It is an evergreen, aromatic, shrub-like tree that can grow 1-3m tall and wide. It has dark green, glossy leaves and, in spring or early summer, it produces dense panicles of male flowers with red stamens, and loose panicles of female flowers with brownish-green stamens. These stamens eventually ripen into black fruits.

Character

The aromatic, resinous scent of mastic provides a clarifying, revitalising toning effect. The slightly sweet woody notes evoke a warming, grounding feeling.
