Magnesium Oxide
Magnesium oxide is characterised by a uniquely high magnesium content (57%). As magnesium is only bound to a single oxide atom, the typical 5-10% pure magnesium content is exceeded. This is why only one capsule can provide such a high dose of magnesium.
The chemical reaction between magnesium oxide and the hydrochloric acid present in the stomach produces magnesium chloride and water. High-dose magnesium oxide neutralises gastric acids, meaning it is not suitable for individuals with low stomach acid levels.
