Magnesium Lactate Dihydrate

Magnesium lactate dihydrate is an organic compound of magnesium with dextrorotatory lactic acid (lactate). Especially dextrorotatory lactic acid is a natural metabolic product of humans and is also produced by lactic acid bacteria. Lactate is a component of the acid mantle of the skin as well as of the lactic acid intestinal environment, serves to nourish butyrate-forming intestinal bacteria and is an important energy supplier for the cells of the intestinal mucosa.

Recommended Dosage

Take 4 capsules daily spread throughout the day, each with 200ml of water.

Daily Requirements

The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of between 300 and 400mg of magnesium (NRV: 375mg). However, individual magnesium needs may vary according to biochemical factors, and can be significantly increased during stressful periods.

Note: According to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), magnesium intake through supplements should not exceed a maximum daily amount of 250 mg of magnesium in food supplements in order to avoid a laxative effect (mild diarrhoea). The maximum amount applies to persons aged four years and older. For infants under four years of age, there is no such guidance relating to a daily maximum due to lack of data.

The BfR recommends that the daily dose be divided into at least two separate doses per day. This is because scientific data shows that magnesium tolerability is increased when intake is spread between two or more portions per day.

Food Supplement

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements cannot replace a balanced and varied diet. Keep out of reach of children.
