How are we different?
Magnesium bisglycinate is always produced from magnesium oxide and the vegan amino acid glycine. The two raw materials are reacted together with water and catalysts. Two glycinate ions can attach to the doubly positively charged magnesium ion, resulting in the desired compound magnesium bisglycinate.
The market standard is to use an exceptionally large proportion of magnesium oxide, so that a certain amount of this raw material remains in the final product. Depending on the process level, qualities with approximately 10–20% magnesium content can be selected. Our magnesium glycinate raw material with the highest magnesium content of 20% consists of approximately 80% magnesium glycinate and 20% magnesium oxide as a compound. This magnesium glycinate powder thus has an exceptionally high magnesium content of 20% and offers excellent sustained-release properties as a mixture of the exceptionally fast-available magnesium bisglycinate and the slower-absorbed magnesium oxide. This high-dose magnesium bisglycinate has a raw material purity of a total of 98.0%.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.

Magnesium Glycinate
Magnesium glycinate is bound to the amino acid glycine. Large amounts of glycine can be found in connective tissue and the brain. Magnesium glycinate is considered to be one of the most bioavailable magnesium compounds. It positively contributes to normal protein synthesis, a healthy nervous system and psychological functioning.

Take 2 capsules daily spread over the day with 200ml of water.
Note: Spreading the dosage out across the day can improve absorption, since only a limited amount of magnesium can be absorbed at a time. Ideal intake times for magnesium include the morning just after waking, before lunch or after sports and in the evening before sleeping. Taking magnesium on an empty stomach or 30 minutes before a meal can improve absorption.
Daily Requirements
The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of between 300mg–400mg of magnesium (NRV: 375mg). However, individual magnesium needs may vary according to biochemical factors, and can be significantly increased during stressful periods.
Note: According to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), magnesium intake through supplements should not exceed a maximum daily amount of 250mg of magnesium in food supplements in order to avoid a laxative effect (mild diarrhoea). The maximum amount applies to persons aged 4 years and older; for infants under 4 years of age, there is no such guidance relating to a daily maximum due to lack of data.
The BfR recommends that the daily dose be divided into at least two separate doses per day. This is because scientific data shows that magnesium tolerability is increased when intake is spread between two or more portions per day.
