How are we different?
Magnesium citrate malate is a highly bioavailable organic mixed salt that combines the benefits of magnesium citrate and malate into one innovative molecular hybrid. This unique structure is an exceptionally gentle compound characterised by excellent water solubility, maximum bioavailability and rapid absorption.
Compared to mono compounds, this hybrid combines the specific strengths of two organic salts, both of which are natural components of the body's energy metabolism. This combination is ideal for athletes and active people in particular, as the cells and muscles are quickly supplied with magnesium, even under physical stress.
Magnesium citrate malate meets our strict True Clean Label standard and is 100% vegan. We consistently avoid unnecessary additives, fillers and anti-caking agents. While many products contain only small amounts of active ingredients, this formula offers a magnesium content of at least 12%.
We use particularly high-quality, airtight flavour protection bags with zippers for packaging. These offer a high level of barrier protection to protect the powder from moisture and external influences in the best possible way.
Effects
Effects
Magnesium Citrate Malate
Magnesium citrate malate is an organic magnesium compound comprising the salts of malic acid (malate) and citric acid (citrate). Both are natural intermediates in the citric acid cycle, the hub of metabolism and energy production, and are involved in forming ATP (adenosine triphosphate) to store energy, together with magnesium, calcium and phosphorus. This synergistic combination contributes to normal energy metabolism, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal muscle function.
According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):
Magnesium contributes to:
- The reduction of tiredness and fatigue
- Electrolyte balance
- Normal energy-yielding metabolism
- Normal functioning of the nervous system
- Normal muscle function
- Normal protein synthesis
- Normal psychological function
- The maintenance of normal bones
- The maintenance of normal teeth
- Cell division
Dosage
Dosage
Directions
Mix 2 level measuring scoops (1.7g) into 200ml water and drink with a meal.
Note: Spreading the dosage out across the day can improve absorption, since only a limited amount of magnesium can be absorbed at a time. Ideal intake times for magnesium include the morning just after waking, before lunch or after sports and in the evening before sleeping. Taking magnesium on an empty stomach or 30 minutes before a meal can improve absorption.
Daily Requirements
The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of between 300–400mg of magnesium (NRV: 375mg). However, individual magnesium needs may vary according to biochemical factors, and can be significantly increased during stressful periods.
Note: According to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), magnesium intake through supplements should not exceed a maximum daily amount of 250mg of magnesium in food supplements in order to avoid a laxative effect (mild diarrhoea). The maximum amount applies to persons aged 4 years and older. For infants under 4 years of age, there is no such guidance relating to a daily maximum due to lack of data.
The BfR recommends that the daily dose be divided into at least two separate doses per day. This is because scientific data shows that magnesium tolerability is increased when intake is spread between two or more doses per day.
Food Supplement
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
