The kiwi (Actinidia chinensis var. deliciosa) belongs to the Actinidiaceae plant family. They are cultivated in Asia from China to Japan, as well as southeast Siberia and New Zealand.
Livaux® is a premium fruit powder made from real golden kiwis. The fruit is cultivated according to organic standards in a top kiwi growing region of New Zealand and is processed on-site according to a patented, non-GMO process.
Following harvest, the ripe kiwis are removed from their skins, freeze-dried and ground in order to preserve their nutrients. Due to the use of gentle processing methods that omit heat, the final product contains a high proportion of the proteolytically active enzyme actinidain with 5000 AU per gram. It is low in fructose and provides soluble dietary fibre, which serves as a nutritional basis for bacteria such as the butyrate-forming Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. Actinidain is a special proteolytic enzyme found in kiwis.
