This Kunzea grows in pristine nature on Flinders Island, situated in the middle of the Bass Strait in north-east Tasmania. Flinders Island regularly has strong south-west winds with influences directly from the Antarctic Circle and high annual rainfall of over 700 mm. This harsh, windy and changeable climate offers the ideal conditions for the kunzea plant to thrive and for the harmonious development of the natural ingredients and aromas, such as α-pinene, viridiflorol and 1,8-cineole. Between September and May, the fresh twigs and leaves are collected from wild plants and then gently distilled with steam in the small local still.

For the manufacturer, the traceability of the origin, sustainability and quality of the essential oils and plant extracts are top priorities.
KUNZEA
Kunzea ambigua is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family (Myrtaceae). It is endemic to southeastern Australia in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The aromatic, dark green leaves are 1cm long and needle-shaped, between September and January it bears small white, rarely pink, aromatic flowers. The natives of Tasmania already knew about the strengths of the plant and used it for many purposes.
