    How are we different?

    Current research shows that iron bisglycinate exhibits the highest bioavailability of all forms of iron. In this compound, the iron is bound to L-glycine, an amino acid which is easily absorbed by the body. Glycine occurs naturally in nuts, soybeans and lentils but unfortunately cannot be isolated from these sources in large quantities. Our glycine is therefore included here in the form of an ultra-pure, pharmaceutical grade active ingredient. For the iron bisglycinate, we chose an ultra-pure synthetic iron bisglycinate manufactured in Germany. Our high-dose iron is therefore not only extremely well tolerated but also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

    Moreover, the addition of vitamin C to our formulation serves to increase iron absorption. Our highly purified vitamin C is obtained from non-GMO corn through a special manufacturing process, which removes any trace of corn, and has an almost 100% (min. 99.8%) concentration level.

    The raw materials are manufactured according to the highest purity and quality standards in Germany and the USA.

    For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.

    High Bioavailability: Iron Combined with Vitamin C

    Iron from plant-based sources is typically less biovailable to humans than that from animal products. This is due to the phytic acid produced by iron-rich plants, a compound that inhibits mineral absorption. The combination of an organic iron chelate, bound to the amino acid L-glycine, with vitamin C results in a non-animal-derived source of iron with high bioavailability.

    Dosage

    Recommended Dosage

    Take 1 capsule (45mg iron + 250mg vitamin C) daily with 200ml water 1 hour before meals.

    Daily Requirements

    According to the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the official daily requirement for iron is 15mg for women, with men and individuals over the age of 51 requiring only 10mg (NRV: 14mg).

    Daily Cofactor Requirements

    The official daily requirement for vitamin C in Germany is 80mg.
